A Landmark Transformed
INTRIGUED by the history of the Naval Air Base, little hints and secrets are hidden within a fresh contemporary interior setting inspired by the rich and abundant landscape of Glenview and the Northshore area …
The past may have been forgotten and only a handful may remember the naval base in Glenview was once the largest in the country. The suggestions and allusions are offered in an abstract and playful form for the curious observer willing to embark on a journey where the not so distant past is met with the present …
One may unconsciously insinuate the curious nature of how quickly something that was once significant and central to the community can over time become an unnoticeable thing of the past. And yet, it takes a conscious effort to keep the past alive through art, literature, music, and all other forms of artistic expression. This is the vision behind the Glenview property. The space feels not only dramatic but also authentic. Glenview and the Northshore offer beautiful and tranquil landscapes, nature preserves and parks to contrast with the historic look of the past that can only now be discovered in the photos taken during their time. By entering the Renaissance Glenview, you are given an opportunity to discover the local history that once had a national presence and was of leading importance. While you mingle with other curious guests, you must take a second look at the art instillations where the shapes matter, the textures awaken your senses, and the contrast is purposeful. Join us in exploring the past, engaging in the present and envisioning the future.
Gracious Walk
Strolling down the 22nd Street…
Salt Creek shapes the way...
Autumn Air… soft and warm…
Oh you love this humble walk…
The interior design of Marriott Hotel in Oak Brook is inspired by the character of the surrounding area, its nostalgic and longing spirit with beautiful trails and natural pathways… The Guests are invited on a “Gracious Walk” that starts as they enter the boundaries of Oak Brook and slowly reach their destination…
The shapes are fluid yet very solid, the materials are strong and enduring… The colors are earthy but sophisticated…
Yearning for that space, with character and soul, rooted in the past and with hopes for the future, is what guides the selections of finishes, materials, furnishings, lighting and artwork for the interior spaces in the Hotel. Like a history of Westchester, it is a dynamic, vibrant and strongly themed space where one can feel very comfortable and at ease. True to Midwestern values, the Four Points by Sheraton in Westchester features interiors with finishes that show character and the passage of time. Wood mixed with stone, raw and textured, adorns the walls while ironed and metal furniture makes a bold statement in the lightly illuminated interiors. Patchwork of natural materials, finishes and custom objects, the space feels very familiar yet highly one of its kind. Carefully crafted objects by local artists mixed with original artwork and photography collections create a well integrated composition that speaks the history of the region and its people: a history of aspirations, hard work and strong character.
The interior design of the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in Oak Brook took a lot of inspiration and was greatly influenced by the richness and beauty of the surrounding areas. Stunning nature trails are within a close proximity of the Hotel with abundance of rich saturated colors, organic textures and unique forms one can admire in the four seasons of the year. The interior spaces are dynamic and vibrant, vast and open, fresh and contemporary. The renovation included all of the Public Spaces located on the Main Level. Reception Desk was relocated, small retail area, Made Market, was added and Bar with an additional seating area were entirely transformed and made open to the main Lobby Space.
Being the first Delta to open in the metropolitan Chicago market, Delta by Marriott Chicago North Shore underwent a complete and extensive renovation that included all areas of the Hotel. Lobby, adjacent Bar, Meeting Spaces, Pool, Fitness Center as well as all of the 255 Suites have been entirely updated with new and fresh look and convenient amenities.
The interior design of the Hotel derived a lot of inspiration from the nature, history of Glenview as well as, “the Grove”, a local nature park located just across from the Hotel. Natural color palette of browns, off-whites & beiges is set against accent hues of richer and brighter colors of yellow, orange, green and red creating a vibrant and rich interior space.
Immediately upon arrival, the hotel guests are welcomed by the setting of simple forms, contemporary shapes, organic textures and colors that create the ambiance of a fresh, open, rich and well connected space. Custom abstract painting inspired by the landmarks of Glenview and a contemporary fireplace are flanked on both sides by an extraordinary installation of floating rocks spanning the full height of the two storey space and create the focal point in the Lobby.
The renovation included all of the Public Spaces with the Reception & Lobby Space, Breakfast Area, Meeting Room, Fitness, Pool as well as all of the Guestrooms & Guestroom Suites. The goal was to create a space that is contemporary & sleek yet unique to the locality and surroundings. The challenge was to seamlessly blend some of the existing elements and unify them in a balanced way with new interior finishes, furniture, lighting, art and accessories.
Wyndham Chicago O'Hare was Radisson Hotel just yet not long ago but with the change of the Brand so came the changes in the interior and exterior of the existing Hotel. The renovation included the Reception Areas, Lobby, Bar, Kitchen and Dining as well as the adjacent Meeting Room spaces. The spaces got opened and the new Hotel feels so much larger, spacious and inviting. The sidelines are clear and direct, there is a space to relax in a comfortable lounge area and there is plenty of space to grab a lunch or drink in the adjacent Bar that further opens to the Dining and Buffet Area. Long contemporary fireplace is the focal feature of that area and the two new Meeting Rooms make it a perfect choice for hosting an event.
Under new ownership and management, the hotel needed to undergo complete renovation that included lobby, bar, two restaurants, ballrooms, VIP Club Lounge, fitness & pool amenities, porte-cochere as well as corridors and guestrooms and suites on all six floors . The challenge was to create a design that would adhere to brand standards and yet provide a unique & fresh aesthetics to the existing space. Inspired by the local Lisle Morton Arboretum, the interior of the space is a mix of neutral color palette of browns and beiges with strong accents of vibrant hues of yellows, oranges, gold tones and even blues, colors experienced by many taking a beautiful walk in Lisle in the fall season. Rich texture of the illuminated onyx panels in the reception and bar area contrasts with the deep browns of the surrounding wood veneer panels and creates strong visual statements. Very playful and appealing is the light composition (placed in the center of the lobby space) that creates visual separation between the lobby and bar area. Three meticulously crafted light fixtures hang at various heights above the custom low height wall capturing attention of guests mingling around the vast lobby space. For those seeking some comfort and peace, the lounge area in the “Library” area, offers comfortable seating spaces, fireplace, large community table, all surrounded by custom millwork with display of unique art and accessories.
